Coachella will take place April 11-13 and April 18-20

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has been an extremely popular event for the past 15 years. Musicians come from all over to perform to thousands of people. Coachella is a festival for all ages, but only takes place for two weekends once a year in April. Some popular artists that have attended Coachella in the past are Vanessa Hudgens, Paris Hilton, Cody Simpson, Katy Perry and so many more.

Many household names will be performing at Coachella this year, such as AC/DC, David Guetta, Drake, Florence and the Machine, Hozier, The Weeknd and Tyler the Creator. Coachella is a great place for new and upcoming artists to get their start in the business. Thousands of people attend every year, so lots of the musicians who perform are bound to get attention.

Many people chose to camp out at Coachella instead of getting a hotel room, but there’s also the option to rent a tee-pee for up to four people, even though a hotel room is probably a lot cheaper. People who attend usually spend a few hundred dollars getting to the festival, but the experience is completely worth it. You could say Coachella is for “hippies,” but the festival brings in such a diverse population. Believe it or not, it’s also a very safe environment as well. The organization that started Coachella is big on recycling, energy conservation, and carpooling to save money and prevent pollution. They also don’t allow backpacks above a certain size, drugs, drug paraphernalia, fireworks, tailgating or audio recording devices.

Jimmy Kimmel has had lots to say about Coachella as well. At last year’s festival, he had reporters attend the festival and ask “hipsters” about musicians that didn’t actually exist. Jimmy Fallon has also talked about Coachella some, and even playfully teases the fanbases of the musicians on the lineup. “Coachella announced its lineup yesterday, which includes AC/DC, Jack White and Drake. It’s the perfect chance for fans of AC/DC, Jack White and Drake to come together and have no idea what to talk about.” He said on his show, Fallon Tonight.

Although Coachella can leave a hole in your wallet, the experience of meeting new people, discovering new music and seeing your favorite musicians live is totally worth it. Tickets are sold out for this year, but it doesn’t hurt to save up and attend next year! Tickets for Coachella 2016 go on sale in May 2015.
