The Lions won last night’s game against the East View Patriots 73-32.

“We did really well,” junior Chase Cotton. “We definitely did better than last time we faced them even though we still won. We did a nice job on defense and a nice job on offense.”

In the first quarter, the Lions scored 19 points and left East View with only two points. Junior Cody Bayer scored six points in the quarter and senior David Bonner scored five points.

“I don’t know if we always start off fast, but I think when we do it really shows a sign that we’re focused,” Head Coach Clint Bradley said. “We’ve still gotta fight for a playoff spot so these guys are digging in and trying to do the best they can to put themselves in that situation.”

Cotton scored nine points in the second half, and sophomore Dalton Flowers scored 10 points.

“We’re going to prepare for Vista Ridge just like any other game,” senior Michael Berry said. “Gotta go out and practice, and do our thing.”

Next, the Lions travel to Vista Ridge, and continue to fight for a playoff spot.

“We’re going to talk about defending and rebounding,” Bradley said. “We gotta make sure that we do that first and foremost, and then taking care of the ball, if we take care of the basketball then I think we should be okay.”
