Band will travel to the San Antonio Alamodome October 31 to compete in Bands of America.

This competition, similar to BOA Austin, is between about 70 bands around Texas. Each band will compete Friday and return on Saturday to find out their results. In order to qualify for finals, they have to rank in the top 14.

“I don’t want to jinx anything,” senior drum major Holly Ekas said, “but we’ve sort of been on a roll this year. We’ve been working really hard.”

After coming back from winning the entire Texas Marching Competition and placing second at BOA Austin, the band finds this to be a bittersweet end to their show.

“We’ve been working towards this all year, so it’s really exciting to lay everything down on the field,” Ekas said, “but it’s sad to know that it will be my last run.”

This will be the final showing of Color Study. The band will perform at 6:45 p.m. following Cedar Park. Tickets are available ons site for $18 for general admission on Friday. For Saturday prelims, it’s $12, and for finals it is $24.
