Rules to O13EY by the Class of 2013

It’s safe to say on behalf of the class of ’13 that as coming in freshmen it would have been nice to have some sort of guidelines to go by. These guidelines come from the students who will walk the stage this Saturday. Congrats seniors, and good luck to the rest of the students!

Rule 1: Try hard. That may sound like a “duh” rule but honestly it’s true. In high school, it is so easy to get discouraged and just want to give up. Everybody knows that feeling of being overwhelmed with too much to do and ending up just taking a nap.  The key to high school is time management. If you just do all your work when you’re supposed to, everything will be easy. Learn how to work the system don’t let it work you.

Rule 2: Don’t be fake. You’re going to hear that in the halls a lot. “Don’t be fake” but it’s true; you should always be yourself. “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” Dr. Seuss

Rule 3: Enjoy your time in high school.  If you’re going to be in high school for four years you might as well make the most of it. Join clubs and organizations, do sports, and never be afraid to try something new.  Don’t leave anything at what if.

Rule 4: Stay with good vibes. The people you surround yourself with will make a big impact over your high school years. Stays away from people with negative attitudes, vibes are contagious. When times get hard keep your head up, it will get better.

Rule 5: Don’t give up. It’s going to get tough at some point but just keep going. You can make it.
