Varsity takes the lead on senior night

Varsity boys’ soccer concluded their district season with a victory against Dripping Springs on Friday. The final score was 8-0.

“It felt great knowing we have this momentum going into playoffs,” senior captain Christian Vieira said. “If we play our game the way we’ve been playing it, I think we will be fine.”

The Lions scored 4 goals in the first half, 4 goals in the second half. Plays were made by:

Senior Hector Carrillo, who’s been supporting the team from the sidelines with an injury all season, came out to play in the second half for the first time in over a year.

“I couldn’t believe that I was on the field,” Carrillo said. “I was nervous that it had been too long, but I just told myself to relax, focus, and not play too rusty.”

The boys’ first playoff game will be against Cedar Creek High School at CCHS on Friday, March 27 starting at 7:30 p.m.
