The Lady Lions ended their season with a 1-0 loss against Dripping Springs March 13. The girls will not be continuing to playoffs.

“We started off really well,” senior holding midfielder Xhesika Ceka said. “We won our tournament down in Pleasanton and things seemed to be going well, the girls finally seemed to be meshing well with each other.”

This year’s team contained mostly underclassmen, so the seniors saw it as an opportunity to train the younger girls.

“It’s rough because being one of the seniors on the team you expect people to be at the maturity you are,” senior left outside back Bri Vargas said. “We’re not bad players, we’re just in the toughest district in the state, but we all have fun.”

The seniors leave their teammates and their season behind with no regrets.

“Don’t be discouraged no matter what’s going on within the team, on the field, no matter what the score says,” Ceka said. “We’re a good team, we have the talent that we need. Eventually we’ll be one of the big contenders, so just keep on doing what you’re doing.”
