Student Spotlight Q&A: Jordan Bird

Q: What are you involved in school wise?

A: Well mostly, I’m in theatre. I like to sing and dance, but I’m not in choir.

Q: How long have you been in theatre?

A: I’ve been doing it ever since 7th grade.

Q: Do you have any hopes of doing theatre in the future?

A:  Yep.

Q: Do you have any hopes of doing musicals in the future since you do like to sing and dance?

A: Uh huh. I’m planning on auditioning for The Music Man in January.

Q: What part?

A: I was, in Utah, where I’m from, I moved from Utah to Texas, so in Utah I was the Barber Shop Quartet, so I’ll probably go for that.

Q: What’s your favorite musical?

A: Oh. I don’t think I really have one. I really don’t care.

Q: Are you involved in any extracurricular activities outside of theatre?

A: Not really.

Q: If theatre doesn’t work out, do you have any other plans?

A: I haven’t really decided; I’m just experimenting right now.

Q: How would you describe yourself?

A: Friendly, outgoing, and looking for good friends.

Q: Have you been in Texas since 7th grade?

A: No, I moved here from Utah and I went to Corum High as a sophomore, and now I’m here as a junior.

Q: So this is your first year at Leander. How do you like it so far?

A: It’s pretty good. A little bit different from Utah though.

Q: Do you feel like everyone is kind of together?

A: Yeah, it’s kind of different. You can see multiple groups just totally engaged with each other.

Q: What do you like to do when you’re not in school or doing anything with theatre?

A: Probably, even though I’m not really much a talker, I do like to socialize. I love to read and I just like doing well in school.

Q: Who is your favorite author?

A: Uhh… Probably more of my favorites either Rick Riordan, Brennan Mole, and then there’s a whole bunch others. Yeah, Rick Riordan’s good.

Q: What is your favorite book?

A: Series, probably Ranger’s Apprentice by John Flanagan. It’s a good series. Love those books a lot.
