2. SXSW® Music, Film and Interactive Conference and Festival

This year’s music lineup includes South Korean group Red Velvet, Survive (the team behind the “Stranger Things” soundtrack), and Torontonian rapper Tasha the Amazon.
3. Rodeo Austin
Home to one of the top ten ProRodeos in America, Rodeo Austin features much more than bull riding and mutton bustin’. The fairgrounds include rides, food stands, and stock shows. Nightly performers include Fitz and the Tantrums, Patti LaBelle, and country singer Kenny Rogers.
4. Art City Austin
Austin’s original fine arts festival returns for its 67th year with art from all around the world. Over 100 artists will show their diverse work in this three day event. Art City Austin is put on by a local group called the Art Alliance, who support contemporary work including an auditory vending machine and the Hello Lamp Post.
5. St. Patrick’s Day Festival
The self-proclaimed “Largest Gathering of Celts in Central Texas” will celebrate Irish culture and pride with musicians, dancers, workshops and food on St. Patrick’s Day. Tickets must be purchased beforehand, but some events, like face painting and an introduction to Gaelic, will be free.
