Varsity

The Lady Lions beat McNeil Friday, September 4. The game was very close, being fought until the 5th set. The final outcome was 3-2, a hard fought game by both teams.

The first set had a close score of 22-25, followed by two winning sets of 25-14 and 25-18. The fourth set score of 18-25 forced a fifth and the varsity girls brought it home with a 15-7 win.

“It was an amazing game,” junior Jess Ross said. “We played hard and came out with a win in the 5th set. Our defense had an amazing game which led to our win.”

Junior Varsity

The JV team was defeated by McNeil. The final outcome of the game was 2-0.

“We had a tough game,” freshman Amanda Larson said. “It was really enjoyable, but we had some big downfalls with missed serves. All though we didn’t perform our best, we still had a good game.”

Freshman A and B

Freshman A ended the game with a loss, a turnout of 2-0, as did the B team.

“A team was very close in the second match,” freshman A team player Hannah Bode said. “We did strong offensively as a team. We also did better communicating. B team did good on covering, they just did weak offensively.”

The Lady Lions next game will be on Friday, September 11. The game will take place at Dripping Springs, their first district opponent of the season.
