Leander ISD’s annual College Fair is Wednesday, October 21 on Vista Ridge High School’s campus. The College Fair is an event that the district hosts every year to help students and their parents learn about college financial aid, admissions and scholarships. 125, both four and two year colleges, universities, technical programs, trade schools and armed services will be represented.

“The main purpose was to expose students to all the different options,” Dean of Instruction Mrs. Porter said. “The great thing about this college fair is there will be public and private, out of state and instate, big and small variety for students that opens up the different options out there.”

There will be displays of the colleges in the competition gym and cafeteria as well as presentations in the MPR and auditorium by Texas State University, Texas Tech University, Texas A&M University and the University of Texas at Austin.

On the cafeteria stage there will be PSAT/SAT/ACT Test Prep: More Than A Teacher, Navigating Financial Aid and Helping Kids Make Decisions Beyond High School: Texas Workforce Commission presentations.

“It makes that connection between the college and the student,” College and Career Transition Coordinator Mrs. Wood said. “It gives students a one-stop shop for finding colleges, being able to talk and discuss any questions they have with the colleges that are there.”

The event will start at 6:00 PM and end at 8 on Wednesday night at Vista Ridge HS and students are encouraged to register here to receive information and fill out forms to send out to the colleges and universities easier.
