HOSA’s two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the healthcare industry and to enhance the delivery of quality healthcare to all people, as stated on their website. The HOSA program here is sponsored by Ms. Amber Hall.

“HOSA is a student organization for the students that are interested in a career in the healthcare field in the future,” Ms.Hall said. “It’s all student led and it’s extra curricular. We focus a lot on service but we also do competition in the spring.”

This year’s officers for HOSA are:
President: Senior Katie Pitchford
Vice President: Senior Bobbette Luton
Secretary: Senior Nancy Ibarra
Treasurer: Senior Crystal Norato
Reporter: Senior Kelli Niemeyer
Historian: Senior Cydnie Tschoepe
Activity Coordinator: Senior Brian Tubonemi

“It’s great for students because it helps teach leadership skills and confidence,” Ms.Hall said. “They also get exposure to healthcare professionals that they wouldn’t normally get exposed to.”

The students each have their designated spot in HOSA. It is a freshman through senior group with nearly 80 members who meet during pride time in Ms.Hall’s room 2323.

“We hope in this school year to volunteer in the community through a number of activities as well as inspire others,” Luton said. “HOSA is more like a family. They are an inspiring group who will support you in your journey into your future field.”
