A free concert presenting the school’s percussion ensembles will take place in the cafeteria on April 2 starting at 7 p.m.

Six percussion ensembles, as well as solo musicians, from Leander and Running Brushy Middle School will be showcasing several prepared pieces to show what they’ve been working on throughout the semester.

The finale will include the Winds Ensemble (1st band) and Symphonic Winds Ensemble (2nd band) of Leander coming together to play “Stained Glass” by David Gillingham, a college-level piece with three movements.

“It’s a really challenging piece,” senior Abraham Mateo said. “Not many high schools would play this because of the level of difficulty.”

Entrance is free and open to the public.
