Finals: Studying Tips

Finals are coming up fast. How can you prepare?

by Marcus Realing, Staff Writer

Finals are a stressful time during the school year. They cover everything students have learned during the semester, and for some, they can be very difficult. The only way to truly ace the finals is to take a lot of time to prepare, and here’s some tips to help you do so.

1. Look over all of your notes

The best way to start studying for finals is looking over all the notes you took for the semester. You’ve already done the content on the notes, so it’ll help refresh your memory on a certain concept.

2. Practice

Now, looking over notes and refreshing your memory is one thing, but actually doing it is another. Write a few paragraphs to practice your English skills. Look up some practice problems for Math. It’ll help solidify your skills, further preparing you for the big test.

3. Attend tutorials

Missing some notes? Having trouble with a concept? Go see your teachers. They want you to be the best student you can possibly be, and will be happy to help you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and get the help you need.

4. Take breaks

Studying for finals can be a bit stressful, as there’s multiple subjects you need to be on top of, and at some points it can get overwhelming. Therefore, you should take breaks as to not wear yourself out. Read a book, play a game, go outside, do whatever. Just be sure not to get lost in whatever you’re doing by limiting your break time and continuing to study.
