This school year 38,550 people have gone in and out of the library doors. The most common genres were graphic novels and romance and the grade level with the most readers are the juniors. 2904 items. Five people tell us about a book they’ve read.
Junior Addisyn Lewis is reading the historical fiction novel ‘The Boy In The Striped Pajamas’ by John Boyne.
“I really like it. I’m like five chapters in but I like that it gives a different perspective into history and the other side of it,” Lewis said.
Senior Rooney Tran has read the regency romance ‘Pride and Prejudice’ by Jane Austen.
“I thought it was a really really good book,” Tran said. “It was pretty interesting just how the story played out and how the characters built the part and interacted.”
Junior Riley Laws has read the historical fantasy book ‘A Study In Drowning’ by Ava Reid.
“The vibe of the book was really dark academia. It was mystical and very descriptive,” Laws said. “I could see the town it was in and it had some talk of gods and such. I read it in October so it really fit the vibe of the season and the characters were really relatable. They talked about really relevant problems of today and I already pre-ordered the second one.”
Freshman Katie Norman is reading ‘The Holy Bible.’
“Big fan,” Norman said. “It’s my religion so I like reading about it. I read it all year long for the rest of my days. I like the book of John the best because it gives good insight on personal reflection and goes into depth on Jesus’ teachings.”
Senior Annie Rose has just finished the novel ‘The Idiot’ by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
“I really liked it. I enjoyed the way it was told. It was kinda messy in a way,” Rose said. “I’ve been really into Russian literature and I enjoy the way the characters interact with each other. It feels very realistic.”
