In celebration of Valentine’s Day, the students in the Floral Design class participated in a themed assignment, creating sundae-shaped arrangements from colorful carnations.
In the spirit of Valentine's Day, Floral Design teacher Audrey Riojas instructs her class in creating a love-themed arrangement. Carnations were used to simulate ice cream scoops, layered in a milkshake glass, and accented with coupled straws. "“[To plan] our projects, I start by looking at the budget,” Riojas said. “Then… I communicate with the other Floral Design teachers [in the district] and we plan arrangements for the year. It isn’t only one person– we’re a team. We all do different [assignments] but we share ideas with each other.”
