Over the last year, the Leander/Cedar Park area has been booming with new shops and restaurants. Now, even more shopping centers are being introduced.
Cedar Park is welcoming a 370,000 square foot shopping center along the 183-A toll road by New Hope Drive. New stores include Nordstrom Rack, 365 by Whole Foods, Old Navy, DSW, Michael’s craft store, Ulta beauty, Petco, Dick’s Sporting Goods and many more.
“I go to Ulta a lot, and usually my mom has to take me there which is about 25 minutes away,” Gomez said.
The project is expected to be done by 2017, with at least 20 tenants opening up stores and restaurants. Cedar Park residents are excited about not having to drive to Austin and Round Rock to go to their favorite stores.
“I told my mom about the new shopping center being built, and she’s super happy,” Gomez said.
Just like the shopping center 1890 Ranch, it has helped residents in the area by allowing them to not have to leave the city to shop and eat out. Not only will the shopping center be closer to home, but as for the city, taxes will be boosted to fund other projects.
“In addition to more opportunities to shop close to home, developments such as The Parke have other benefits, as well, such as boosting sales tax collections that fund city operations,” Cedar Park Mayor, Matt Powell said. “By opening all of these new shops and restaurants in the area, it has helped Cedar park by having diversity and good business.”
