Drumline Places First at South Texas Classic Drumline Invitational

Drumline went to the South Texas Classic Drumline Invitational in San Antonio at Brandeis High School. They won Best Snares, 1st place in Division 1, and received the Overall Grand Champion of the entire contest.
“It was great. I think we all performed to the best of our ability. It was probably of the best runs we’ve ever had as an ensemble and as individuals.” Richard Hensley, junior Quad drumline member said.
Drumline competed against many schools, but proved to be the best. Even though their bus was late, the percussionists were focused. “Our biggest competition was Sandra O’Connor High School, and Warren High School because they had a really good quad line, their theme of their show was well thought out, and their base line was pretty cool. Our bus was 15 minutes late, so we only had about 15 minutes to warm up. We focus better under pressure,” Hensley said.
