Principal Announces Fifth Quarter Dance
September 8, 2014
Thanks to the support of school administration, Principal Tiffany Spicer has officially announced the Fifth Quarter Dance via Twitter.
Spicer’s idea was that ticket prices would double as admission to the dance, while also automatically granting membership to the PTSA (Parent-Teacher-Student Association).
“It’s a place for the kids to go after a football game and a chance for them to benefit their school,” Spicer said.
Members of the PTSA are able to vote on how money is spent for the school’s benefit. Senior members are also able to apply for college scholarships.
The dance is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 12th, after the football game against Rouse, one of Leander’s newest rivals.
The school will provide a DJ, and concessions will go on sale to benefit LHS.
Students are allowed to come to the dance dressed as they are at the game, so long as no school dress codes are violated.
Admission is $6. The dance will last until 11:59 p.m.
