NHS is putting on a talent show on Mar. 6. Proceeds from the show will be going toward new water fountains with bottle filling stations around the school. The emcees have been chosen, and auditions are on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

One of the emcees is junior Jacob Poulton.

“When Mr. [Gregory] Shaw announced that we would have hosts for the talent show, I immediately knew that I would be trying out,” Poulton said. “I love speaking in front of people, and I want to be a comedian later on in life.”

The talent show will run for approximately two hours and will be in the PAC.

“The biggest challenge is going to be not running out of things to say,” Poulton said. “When you are tasked with speaking between each act, you have to be prepared to just keep being entertaining. A lot of what I am going to say will be spontaneous, but I have done some planning of things to say in case we need to fill some time.”

Auditions were held on Feb. 12 and 13.

“Results are not out yet, but based on the auditions I have seen, we may have singers, pianists, a saxophone ensemble, a drumming routine, horn solos, magicians and just an overall fantastic lineup,” Poulton said. “I was really worried that there would only be singers, but the auditions were amazing to watch, and I’m really excited to see the finished show.”
