This past weekend, band participated in the Bands of America San Antonio Super Regional Championship. They came in fourth place overall out of 85 schools.

“I was super shocked,” senior Jordan Su said. “The entire drumline held hands and my heart was beating super fast as the rankings got closer and closer to first.”

Many members of the band suffered from food poisoning during finals.

“There was something wrong with the turkey sandwiches,” Su said. “A bunch of people got sick.”

The band will be going to Grand Nationals this year for the first time since 2016.

“I already went freshman year and it was super fun,” Su said. “I’m excited to get to experience it again with better friends.”

In the mean time, band is continuing to prepare for their upcoming competition.

“We need to work harder in these last few rehearsals and not give up,” Su said. “We’re so close to becoming truly spectacular.

Their send-off performance is on Nov. 12 at 7:30 P.M. at Bible stadium. Admission is free.
