by Arie Shaver, Reporter

1. True Beauty

Originally a Webtoon story, True Beauty has become a popular sensation on many social media platforms including Instagram and Tik Tok. The K-drama features Moon Ga Young as Im Ju-Gyeong, a young high schooler who struggles to fit the beauty standard. To evade bullying, Ju-Gyeong teaches herself makeup to mask her bare face, which she fears her classmates seeing, all except for Lee Su Ho played by Cha Eun Woo who likes her regardless of her bare face. This could be a romance between the two of them, however, Im Ju- Gyeong also catches the attention of Han Seo Jun played by Hwang In Yeop. What’s in store for this love triangle. Watch the K-drama to find out! You can check it out on Viki or Drama cool.

2. It’s Okay to Not Be Okay

As an original, Netflix definitely deserves praise for this K-Drama. Bringing a deep awareness of mental health to the stage, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay features two main leads Ko Moon Young played by Seo Ye-Ji, and Moon Gang Tae played by Kim Soo-Hyun who journey on a road to emotional healing with each other as they face their traumatic pasts together. Fairytales and fables seem to be consistent in this K-Drama and it ties in perfectly with the plot of the show. Definitely recommend watching this k-drama on Netflix when you get a chance.

3. Run On

Recently released on Netflix, Run On features Shin Se- Kyung as a freelance interpreter named Oh Mi Joo who happens to become a part of the life of a track star who veers off his path as a sensation to follow his own dreams separate from that of his fathers. While the film has its serious aspects, it’s definitely full of comedy and entertainment. 100% recommended.

4. Tempted

Recently trending on Tik Tok with the appearance of Moon Ga Young, Tempted has definitely shown a lot of promise within the series. The K-drama features Woo Do-Hwan as Kwon Shi-Hyun, a young heir who agrees to a bet with his friends to make college student Eun Tae-Hee played by Joy fall in love with him. That is until he starts to catch feelings for her. Check it out on Viki or Drama cool. Don’t miss it!

5. The Bride of Habaek

The Bride of Habaek is another k-drama featured on Netflix once again starring Shin Se-Kyung, however this time as Yoon So-ah, a descendant and psychiatrist who must serve Lord Habaek played by Nam Joo- hyuk a god who comes to Earth searching for a stone he needs in order to inherit the throne. The drama has a lot of comedic aspects and is overall very entertaining. If you’re someone who likes fantasy and mythology I definitely recommend it.

6. Crash Landing on You

Crash Landing on You definitely tugs at the heartstrings, featuring an heiress played by Son Ye-jin and an army officer played by Hyun Bin who agrees to help her hide. The chemistry in the film is so great that even the actors started dating themselves. Check it out on Netflix for a journey of comedy, romance, and drama. Don’t miss it!

7. Love Alarm

As another K-drama on Netflix, Love Alarm does not disappoint. This k-drama features a world where an app alerts people if someone near them likes them. In this love-triangle of a show, Kim Jo-Jo played by Kim So-Hyun experiences love while dealing with personal problems. It’s definitely worth watching.
