How to make this Mother’s Day special without leaving the house
May 6, 2020
As we celebrate this Mother’s Day from home, finding a gift for your mom may prove to be a little difficult. However, there are plenty of easy, heartfelt gift ideas that you don’t even need to leave your house for.
1. Breakfast in bed
Show her you care by making her favorite breakfast. Whether it be pancakes, eggs and bacon, toast, or even just coffee, the gesture will mean the world to her. To go the extra mile, surprise her by waking up early and serve her the homemade breakfast in bed. If you have a tray, or even a baking sheet, make her a nice breakfast platter that she can eat without even having to leave her bed.
2. Clean the house
Give your mom a break by cleaning the house for her. Light some candles, make the house smell nice, look clean, and she’s sure to feel pampered. Maybe even mow the yard while you’re cleaning too, cover all the bases so she doesn’t have anything to worry about this Mother’s Day.
3. Make a card with a sweet note
Instead of buying a storebought card, this year make her something extra special and from the heart. All you need is any kind of paper, construction, printer, notebook, and kind of paper will work. It doesn’t even have to be a traditional card. Mix it up! Draw her a drawing, make a collage, print out a picture of your family or just the two of you. Then write her a nice, heartfelt note about what she means to you. How she’s made you the person you are today. It doesn’t have to be amazing, as long as you are speaking from the heart, your words will mean the world to her.
4. Make dinner
Making dinner is an easy way to show how much your mother means to you. It can be just a simple dinner or an extravagant three-course meal, either way, making dinner will definitely make your mom’s day. Maybe even wash the dishes afterward just to really show your appreciation.
5. Tell her you love her
The simplest, yet most meaningful way to show how much you love your mom is to tell her. Make sure you let your mom know that you love her and appreciate everything she does for you. A simple “I love you” will really mean the world.
