The JV Boys’ basketball team beat Rouse Tuesday night with a final score of 56-50. Sophomores Ruben Luna and Riley Reagan were in the top scorers for the first half of the game with Luna scoring eight points and Reagan scoring seven. Junior Blane Smith made two three pointers in the first half. The team scored 35 points as a whole in the two first quarters.

“As a team we had good ball movement and shot the ball great as well,” Smith said. “When it came down to it, our hustle won us the game.”

The team scored nine points in the third quarter and twelve in the fourth bringing their final score to 56. They made five out of nine free-throws in the second half of the game. Luna, Reagan and Smith were the top scorers of this half as well with Junior Kevone Graham contributing three points in the fourth.

“I thought it was a great start,” JV coach Will McNeil said. “Everybody played really good and everybody contributed. It was nice to come out with a win for the first game of the year.”

The boys next game will be Monday, November 23 against Liberty Hill. It will be an away game. They will also be playing a tournament this upcoming Saturday.
