Rangers squeeze by Lions

In the final home game of the season both the JV and freshmen teams faced tough defeats against Vista Ridge.

“I think we just improved from our last game,” Freshman Riley Regan said. “Cause last game I think we lost by 20 and this game we only lost by [five].”

The JV Lions played a tough game against the Rangers but came up short. The Lions led the first quarter with a score of 15-13. At the end of the half the Rangers led 23-20 against the Lions. At the end of the third quarter the Lions were down three points with a score of 41-37. In the final quarter the Rangers held on and won with a score of 48-43.

“We played a lot harder and we really executed all of our plays,” Freshman Ruben Luna said. “Which made the difference and that’s why we were so close.”

The freshman Lions also faced a tough game against the Rangers. The freshman A Lions trailed in the first quarter with a score of 10-7. The first half ended with the Lions trailing 22-16 against Vista Ridge. At the end of the third quarter Vista Ridge led with a score of 34-18. The Lions played hard until the end as Vista Ridge gained a victory with a score of 44-28.

“We had good ball movement,” Freshman Kyle Decker said. “and we were swinging it quickly, and I think everyone was touching the ball, and on both sides we had a lot of rebounds.”

The freshman B Lions were also stopped short as Vista Ridge won 47-28.
