Lions end streak with win against Lobos
Win ends five game loss streak

The Lions lost against the Hays Rebels in a close game 49-40 on February, 3, then fell to the Lake Travis Cavaliers and Westlake Chaparrals on February 7 and 10, respectively. The Lions won against Lehman’s Lobos on February 14 with a final score of 65-40, after leading the entire game.
“Our spirits were high [on the 14th] considering it was our last home game of the season,” senior Blane Smith said. “For us seniors, [it was] our last home game ever. We weren’t going to lose on [the] last night in our house.”
Smith scored three points during the game against the Lobos and rebounded once.It feels a bit upsetting after each game because the end of my basketball career comes close and closer to it’s end. It also drives me to be better and take nothing for granted.
“We just went out there and played the game and had fun,” senior Chase Cotton said. “It felt great to [win] again and know we are back on track to win some games.”
During the game against the Lobos, the Lions celebrated the senior players.

The Lions will have their first playoff game against San Antonio’s Reagan Rattlers on February 21 at New Braunfels High School.
