The Varsity Boys’ have begun their season with a very promising start on Friday night: a victory over their long-time rival, the Rouse Raiders, with a final score of 4-2.

“Some of the [veteran] team members were ready to avenge last year’s loss,” Coach Russ Girard said. “Unlike last year, this time we scored within the first minute.”

Senior Jose Cervantes was unstoppable against the Raiders, scoring three goals with the assistance of seniors Cole Bolero and Christian Vieira.

“We’ve been preparing all year for this game, and tonight we played with a different passion that wasn’t there last year,” Varsity Co-Captain Christian Vieira said. “We came out flying in the first 27 seconds and didn’t let up until the game was over.”

Vieira also scored a goal with the assistance of Cervantes.

“I’m very confident in my team and the potential we have for this season,” Vieira said.
