With their first game of the season coming up against rivals Rouse, the varsity soccer team talks about how they feel about the upcoming season after last years successful playoff berth.

“Our goal is to make it to playoffs and have at least one guy make all team district,” sophomore returner Cole Bolero said. “We also want to get our reputation of our strong team spread around central Texas.”

This year there are 11 returners that Coach Girard hopes will have experience in the games coming up this year.

“Key players will always be those who are returning lettermen,” Coach Russ Girard said. “They know the ropes and they are the leaders of the team. I hope we can live up to the reputation that the last two graduating classes have set up for us.”

All home games are at Bible Stadium and there will be three home games in January. The varsity has already won against Akins in a scrimmage on Tuesday night. They won 2-1 with 2 goals in the second half by senior Ruben Gonzalez and freshmen Isaiahz Soria.

“Our goal at the moment is to make playoffs,” sophomore Kyle Vogel said.

Friday night the varsity team will take on their rivals the Rouse Raiders at 7:15 at Bible Stadium.
