Freshmen Football Keeps Pace as Season Ends

On October 26, the Lions played against the Dripping Springs Tigers. The Red team won 28-22, and the Blue team won 42-41.

On October 18, the Red team played the Vista Ridge Rangers and lost 21-18.

The first half of the first quarter went by without scores. With 3:45 left, Vista Ridge made a touchdown pass and scored an extra point, 7-0. In the remaining minutes of the quarter, the Rangers scored gaain, and ended the quarter 14-0.

In the first three minutes of the second quarter, the Lions scored a touchdown, went for a two-point conversion, but came up short, 14-6 Rangers. In the remaining 40 seconds, the Rangers intercepted a pass from the Lions, but it didn’t go anywhere, ending the half with 14-6 to the Rangers.

In the third quarter, the score stayed unchanged until Vista Ridge made a touchdown run with three minutes left, 21-6. To retaliate, the Lions scored a touchdown, 21-12.

In the fourth quarter, the score went unchanged until there were 35 seconds left and the Lions scored a touchdown, 21-18, and the game ended.

 

On October 18, the Blue team kicked off against the Vista Ridge Rangers and lost 25-20.

The first quarter went by with no score. In the first two minutes of the second quarter, the Rangers scored a touchdown, 6-0. After the Rangers kicked to the Lions and the Lions passed, the Rangers intercepted and took the ball to the 50-yard line.  In the next minute, the Rangers made a touchdown run, 12-0. In the last 51 seconds, Vista Ridge intercepted another pass from the Lions. The Rangers took a knee and ended the first half with a 12-0 score.

To start the second half, the Rangers kicked off to the Lions. With 4:31 left in the third quarter, the Lions scored and kicked an extra point, 12-7. In the next minute, the Rangers made a 50-yard touchdown run, 18-7. With 3:13 left in the quarter, the Rangers intercepted a pass and waited a minute to score, 25-7. In the last minute of the quarter, the Lions scored, 25-13, and the quarter ended.

In the fourth quarter, the Lions scored a touchdown with 6:45 left, but they didn’t score again, so the game ended 25-10.

After their bye week, on Thursday, November 8, the Lions are playing against the Marble Falls Mustangs at Bible Stadium.
