The Freshmen Red and Blue teams played their first district game against the Cedar Park Timberwolves on Thursday, September 26th. The Freshman Red team fought hard, but weren’t able to secure a victory; their final score was 36-14. The Freshman Blue team came to the field determined to make up for the loss, and they did; their final score was 20-0.

“I told the team those games before didn’t matter and that the real season’s started,” Coach Clay Richards said.

Highlights of the Blue game included: Cody Spohn’s interception return for a touchdown, a 40 yard touchdown pass caught by JJ Larson from Garrett Parcel, and Kyle Murdock’s two field goals of 32 and 35 yards for 6 points.

“I was really excited before the game. I just had this feeling that we’d beat ’em,” Spohn said.

The Freshman Blue and Red teams are scheduled to battle it out against the Rouse Raiders at Rouse High School on Thursday, October 3rd, at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
