Junior Varsity Preps for District

On September 27, the JV Red Football team played against their big time rivals, the Cedar Park Timberwolves.

In the first quarter, quarterback Andrew Wheeler, sophomore, made a touchdown. The extra point was good which started off the Lions with a 7-0 lead. Within a couple of minutes, Andrew Wheeler scored again. This time the Lions tried a two-point conversion, but it failed to make the score 13-0.

With 6:15 left in the second quarter, wide receiver Ben Douglas, sophomore, took the ball in for a touchdown, and an extra point was kicked, leaving the Lions 26-0.

After a stalemate in the third quarter, four minutes into the fourth quarter, Cedar Park made a touchdown, but tripped up when going for the two-point conversion. The score was 26-6. With two minutes and eight seconds left in the game, the Timberwolves scored, took a timeout, and made an extra point. But the game ended with the Lions winning 26-14.

At 5:29 p.m. on September 20th, the Lions kicked off against the Pflugerville Panthers.

Jonathan McCarty, sophomore, intercepted a pass for the Lions’ first touchdown. At the end of the first quarter Mikael Dawkins, sophomore, scored a touchdown. At the end of the first quarter, the Lions had a score of 12-0.

The fourth quarter ended with a touchdown and a two-point conversion by the Panthers. The Lions won, however, with a 32-8 score.

The next game for the JV Red team is an away game against the Rouse Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on October 4th.

 

On September 27, The JV Blue Football team took on the Cedar Park Timberwolves.

In the first few minutes of the second quarter, the Timberwolves scored, but missed a field goal, starting them off with a score of 6-0. With one minute and 18 seconds left in the first quarter, Cedar Park scored again and went for a two-point conversion. The score was 14-0.

In the third quarter, Kylar Shelton, sophomore, scored the first touchdown for the Lions. The field goal was unsuccessful which made the score 14-6 in favor of the Timberwolves.

The game ended with a score of 14-6 and the Timberwolves winning.

On September 20th, The JV Blue team played against the Pflugerville Panthers. All of the touchdowns were made by Darian McClatcher, sophomore. The game ended with the Lions winning 26-8.

The next game for the JV Blue team is an away game against Rouse on October 4th at 7:30 p.m.
