On Thursday, October 3rd, the Leander Lion Junior Varsity and Freshman Football teams took on their next district opponent, the Rouse Raiders. The Freshman teams played away at RHS, while the JV teams played at home at Bible Stadium.

Neither Junior Varsity teams were able to secure a victory for the Lions. The JV Red final score was 22-6, and the JV Blue final score was 26-0.

“We played pretty good defense in the first half but gave up a couple of big plays. We got the ball rolling a little bit on offense but didn’t sustain it in the second half,” JV Red Coach Sundheim said.

Meanwhile, the Freshman Red team final score was 20-13 in favor of Rouse, and the Freshman Blue final score was 17-14.

“Defense [Blue] played great again. They shut ’em down in the second half; they  jumped after them,” Freshman Coach Richards said. “They [Blue] are really starting to fire on all cylinders.”

Congratulations to the Freshman Blue team who are now 2-0 in their district games!
