This Friday the Leander varsity football team will play their first playoff game of the 2010 season against Austin High School. The school has lit up with school spirit and high expectations for the game, making every day more exciting than the next.

The team seems fired up and ready for victory. Andy Gonzalez, starting defensive end and punter, has positive outlook about the outcome of Friday’s game.

When asked what the game meant to him he replied, “It means a lot, because of the hard times we went through in pre-season and now we’re looking like more of a team.”

With a 6-1 district record, Leander has finished their district season in second place, which is an enormous achievement.

The game will be played at Leander’s A.C Bible stadium at 7:30, so come out and cheer on the Lions in what will prove to be one of their greatest accomplishments this year.
