After a long summer break, football season is back and the Lions have their first game August 30 at 7:30 against Pflugerville Connally at home.

The players have been under the direction of Coach Lee Bridges all summer and are prepared for the game.

“Defensively, we’ve been preparing a lot with what they run and their kind of offense,” Brian Love, senior safety, said. “We’re prepared. I feel like we’re prepared.”

In particular, the team has been working on their speed.

“Getting more plays off in a less amount of time, that’s what we’ve been working on,” Christian Levy, senior wide receiver, said.

The players are also very excited and nervous.

“Our job is to win the game,” Michael Lucaros, senior receiver and running back, said. “Everything else is for everyone else.”
