Even though the volleyball net has not come down completely, it’s time for another one of Leander’s Lady Lion teams to shine.

The girls varsity, junior varsity and freshman basketball teams have already begun practicing as well as competing in scrimmages.

The girls wake up early to practice, during the basketball period during the school day, as well as after school to prepare for the upcoming district round.

All of the varsity’s hard work paid off as they traveled to Del Valle for their first scrimmage against the Del Valle Lady Cardinals. The Lady Lions were able to enter the season with a strong win. However, the girls were not victorious in their second scrimmage against the Round Rock Lady Dragons.

The team will be traveling to Bowie high school to face the Lady Dawgs this Friday, November 8, at 6:30.
