Lady Lions First Round of State!

The lady Lions came into this season ready to play! With an all-star rooster and players that can play more than one position this season was a success.  The rooster starts off with 6 returning varsity players, seniors being Erica Russell, Rachel Cofield, and Kayala Gaddis, juniors, Michelle Madrical, Kiahna Thompson, and Andreya Williams. New to the Varsity line up is Jenna Guzzetta, senior, Samantha Self , junior, Alisa Greene, sophomore, and Charmaine McBride, Panebi Shirey, freshmen.  The girls finished 2nd in district and for the first time in 10 years have made it to state play offs!

The season went into play with a win over Marble Falls with a final score of 45-30. The second game in district came in as a harsh loss to the girls over the school rivals Cedar Park the final score being  43-38 with that being the first loss for the season the team quickly learned the lesson and came back to dominate the court with three consecutive wins over Elgin, Rouse, and Vandergrift. On January 8th, the team had its second loss to Vista Ridge. Once again, the girls came back with their head in the game with a 5 streak win, including a win over Cedar Park on January 22nd with a score of 53-45. The district season ended with a 9 win 3 loss record allowing them to proceed to state.

Tonight, Monday February 11, 2013, the lady lions take on McCallum Knights at Concordia University for their first round in State Play-offs.    The game starts at 6pm ticket prices are $4 for adults and $2 for students.
