The Beautiful Game: Girls Soccer Preseason

The Leander Lady Lion soccer team has kicked off their season with a bang. Despite the past upsetting seasons, the girls have rallied together to grow into one unit that is hoped to make history. The team’s early morning practices have come to be fruitful. After traveling to a tournament in Marble Falls, the Lady Lions came home with a fourth place trophy and a satisfying accomplishment of knowing that they played their best.

“We are an underclassmen team, but the underclassmen are very good,” said Roman-Lopez.

Returning team members and now captains, senior Cynthia Roman-Lopez, senior Elizabeth Montalvo, and senior Abby Ramos have been a part of the soccer program for all four of their years here and say they have never felt that they had a chance of actually winning games in district. Check back later to see how the Lady Lion’s season is going.

The team will venture to in San Antonio this weekend for another tournament  on Friday January 17.
