For the second year in a row  the Lady Lions have secured a spot in the playoffs and are one step closer to state. The Lady Lions will play the Lady Rebels of Austin Travis at the Noack Sports Complex in Austin on Friday, April 25 at 6 pm. The field is located at 5300 Crainway Drive in Austin.

The Ladies played at Vandegrift for their final district game of the season. Varsity won 4-1 and claimed the District Championship title and clinched their position in the playoffs.

The JV Lady Lions team put up an impressive 20-0 win against the Lady Rangers as well, sealing their season with a strong victory.

Before the end of the district season, the team celebrated their two seniors, Hannah Giamfortone and Laura Tibbs. There are a number of traditions that the team has every year including giving each senior some candy of their choice. Both Giamfortone and Tibbs have been a part of this program since their freshman year.

The two have been a part of essentially two programs. When they first arrived they had Coach Fregia, who was the varsity coach until last year. They became a part of the “new” program with the new head coach, Kendall Driver.

For the seniors, it isn’t the time to say their departing words quite yet. After their winning district season, the Lady Lions have advanced to the playoffs.
