Over Spring Break, a small portion of the Leander Varsity girls track team went to Houston for the TSU Relays at Texas Southern University. With more than twenty schools competing Leander definitely left their mark on the track. Stephanie Wangui placed first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:17.61 not only beating her personal record but the sch0ol’s record! She officially now has the eighth fastest time in the state, and the eighteenth fastest time in the Nation Let’s not forget Matyndia Corrine Cisse who followed up right behind Wangui and placed second with a time of 2:18.05. These leading ladies also led the 4×400 relay to the finals with other team members Michelle Madrigal and Lexi Brooks. The girls ended up placing eighth overall out of fifteen teams with a time of 4:01.57!

Be looking out for the Leander girls track team as they make their big debut at their home meet this Friday at Leander and making their way to District!
