Lady Lions take on Lady Timberwolves
Volleyball teams make plays but fall short to rival Cedar Park
Varsity
The Lady Lions were defeated by the Lady Timberwolves Tuesday night, September 15th. The girls were spiking the ball and returning the serves, but just didn’t come out on top with the end score being 3-1. The first set scored 14-25 and the second set scored 13-25. The Lady Lions then came back in the third set with a score of 25-21, but were stopped short in the final set 11-25.
“Cedar Park is one of our big rivalries so we were really excited to play them,” sophomore Pilar Gonzaba said. “We played aggressively and with a lot of heart in all the sets.”
Junior Varsity
The JV team fell short, being swept by Cedar Park. The final outcome of the game was 2-0. In the first set the score came out to 8-25 and the second 15-25.
“We played hard and it was a tough loss,” freshman Amanda Larson said. “Until the very last point, our team never stops fighting.”
Freshman A
Freshman A lost to the Timberwolves with a turnout of 2-0. Cedar Park won the first and second sets with the final scores being 18-25 and 16-25. The freshman B team did not play due to the fact that Cedar Park has no B team.
“We played the Cedar Park Timberwolves and we didn’t give up without a fight,” freshman Claire Imig said. “We lost the first and second set. We’ll beat them next time!”
The Lady Lions’ next game will be tonight, September 18. They will be taking on the Georgetown Eagles at 5:30 and 6:30 here at home.
