The Lady Lion varsity volleyball team hosted the Cedar Park Lady Timberwolves at Rouse High School on Tuesday night, November 12.

Both teams came out swinging with a desire to win. In the first match, Cedar Park came out playing an aggressive and fast paced game. The Lady Lions were not able to make fortified plays, resulting in errors. While the girls fought hard they were not able to secure a win. The match ended 22-25, Cedar Park.

The second match was borderline identical to the first. Leander, however, played a much more solid offensive game. Sadly their overall play was not enough to beat the Lady Timberwolves. The score to the second match was 22-25.

In the third match the tables turned. Leander cut down on the amount of errors, resulting in a strong offense and the breakdown of the Lady Timberwolf defense. After a long rally, the Lady Lions were able to secure a victory with a score of 26-24.

The fourth game meant crunch time. If Cedar park won, it would be over. If Leander won, the game would continue and both teams would be given a chance to advance.

The Lady Lion offense was able to force the Lady T-wolves to make numerous amounts of mistakes. The combination of CPHS’ errors and the incredible display of offense by the LHS hitters resulted in another win for the Lady Lions. The battle was neck and neck but was a victory none the less. The end score to the fourth game was 25-23, Leander.

The fifth and final match of the game ended in a heartbreaking loss for the Leander Lady Lions. Though the girls played good defense, Cedar Park ran a fast offense that was able to break that defense apart.

The final score was 15-11. The Lady Lions’ season ended but it was a great run.
