Volleyball sweeps Marble Falls in all matches

All three of the Lady Lion teams won against the mustangs

Volleyball went against Marble Falls Friday night, October 16. There were victories all around with every team winning by sweeping their opponents.

Varsity beat Marble Falls keeping the other team’s scores below 16 for each match. The final score was 3-0 with the score of the first set coming out to 25-11, second 25-16, and the third 25-10.


“I think defensively we played outstanding,” varsity player sophomore Pilar Gonzaba said. “We really just worked on the things we’ve been working on and executed it on the court.”

The JV team played the first game of the night. They won with a score of 2-0. The first set was 25-17 and the second 25-13.

“Overall we played amazingly with great defense and offense,” freshman Amanda larson said. “Our back row passes were amazing and we were talking  and communicating all night. We were so loud that the audience got into it.”

The Freshman A team won 2-0 similar to the JV team. The first set was 25-18, and the second 25-21.  

“We played really well and got a win,” freshman A team player Bailey Johnson said. “We stayed cheerful and competitive throughout the whole game.”

The Lady Lions next game will be tonight, October 20. The girls will be taking on Vandegrift here at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
