Six varsity wrestlers competed at the regional tournament on February 17th and 18th in San Antonio. Two of the wrestlers placed in their classes.

“Zeke Garcia had a great weekend by winning the Regional Championship and defeating a former State Champion in the process,” head coach Adam Mclain said.

Senior Ricky Smith, senior Zeke Garcia, senior Gabe Warren, sophomore Lance Reed, sophomore Conrad Russell, and freshman Devin Gassaway all competed in the tournament. Warren finished 6th for the 152 class and Garcia finished 1st in the 220 class.

“I plan to just wrestle,” Garcia said. “My goal is to win [state] this year.”

Garcia will travel to Cypress for the state championship on February 24th and 25th.
