Varsity baseball finds a way to victory
Lions trounce Vista Ridge 8-3 in first district home victory
The Varsity played the Vista Ridge Rangers and won their first home district game of the season with a score of 8-3. Junior Joel Miller took the mound for this game. He put up a good game and played great defense. The defense as a whole played together and limited a lot of runs getting in.
The Varsity’s bats were on all game long and they took the lead very early. Seniors Andrew Alaniz, Jacob Pool and Jake Montgomery and juniors Cameron Castillo, Ty Worthy Trey Roberts and Miller all had hits in the game.
“We all played great and they were behind me all the way,” Miller said.
The Lions enjoyed their win at home, celebrating on the field and holding their L’s high for the school song after the game.
The Lions play Vista Ridge again on Friday at Vista Ridge and the game is at 7 P.M. The Team will try to get their third win in a row to have a winning streak.
“We will go out and play Vista the same way we played them Tuesday, hard and fast.” Coach Grissom said.
