After losses to their first two opponents Killeen and Pflugerville, both freshman football teams visited Rouse last week to try and gain some footing in their season.

The Red team played first and came out short with a score of 12-0. Coach Sturgell, head freshman coach, was proud of all of his players such as Christian Jones, Gavin Davis, Jacob Egelsee and the entire team. Rouse’s offense and defense were too strong but the Lions never gave up.

The Blue team tied 7-7. They had a turnover during the first half to let the team score the touchdown that won the game. Sadly, the team wasn’t able to get that last touchdown due to Rouse’s strong defense and too many penalties. Sturgell was still proud of the blue team for never giving up. QB Colton Davis led the team with a touchdown.

“They improved so much since the first game, and we’ll just get better,” Sturgell said.

On September 18, the freshman play Georgetown at Georgetown at 5:30 for Red and 7 sharp for the Blue.
