by Claire Kyllonen, Staff Writer

The Junior Varsity and Freshman football teams greeted the field for their last games of the season on Thursday, November 7.

The Junior Varsity teams played two different opponents: Cedar Park and Marble Falls. The JV Red final score was 26-14 in favor of Cedar Park. The JV Blue brought home a victory with a final score against the Mustangs of 19-6.

“Those guys went a long way from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. We look forward to having a pretty successful season next year,” JV Red Coach Sundheim said.

The Freshman Red and Blue teams both played against the Mustangs at an away game. The Freshman Red final score was 14-35 in favor of Marble Falls, and the Freshman Blue final score was 7-6 in favor of Leander.

“It [the Freshman Blue game] was very exciting. We had missed a couple of touchdown passes, and we just couldn’t get in until four minutes left in the game,” Freshman Coach Richards said.

Now that the season has come to a close, the teams will go into their off-season training for any other sports they may be involved in. LHS knows how hard the teams have worked and are proud of all their effort.
