In their last competition of the year the varsity Winter Guard finished second in the State Championships in College Station.

“I was pretty excited,” junior Emma Vestal said. “Considering we got fourth the year before, moving up two places was great. It’s a great way for our season to end after our third place at WGI.”

They won 2nd in their round and 3rd overall and then in the finals they got 2nd place. They finished their season winning 1st twice, 2nd twice, 3rd once and 10th once.

It’s a great way for our season to end.

“My favorite moment in Winter Guard this year was performing in finals at WGI Dallas and while we were performing I saw a judge smiling at us as we performed,” junior Karina Martinez said. “To me that was amazing because it just felt that all those extra long practices were totally worth it. We all cut the mistakes and performed like it was the last time and seeing that judge smile was great.”
