To provide a space to meet Athletic Coordinator and Head Coach Ahmed Zaiden, parents and players are invited to join a meet and greet tonight at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. Zaiden was hired as head coach on May 18 to fill the position vacated by Kris Price. 

Zaiden: “I’m excited to be here. Leander has such a great foundation. There’re a lot of good things happening here. Just as any coach, every year they are here to build their culture, build up the players and connect with the community. So I am very excited for this upcoming season. I’m excited about the new district. I have experience in 6A and 5A levels, but every district, no matter what the classification is, is going to be a challenge.”  

Sophomore Ranger Crumley:  “I can tell the new coach is pretty fired up about the plans for the future and that’s what I’m looking forward to. I believe he is gonna take us in the right direction, unlike coach Price, this coach shows us emotion and passion which is exactly what we need.”

Junior Abdul Thomas:“ I’m very excited about the new coach. I believe he can help rebuild the program. I can tell he’s determined to win and I can expect big things from him. He has a winning history and that’s something that’s very needed.”

Junior Antwan Rodgers:“ I am happy about the new head coach because I feel like he can help us gain a new work ethic,playoffs, and make sure we are nice. I feel like Zaiden will take us to the playoffs for sure.”

Junior Nathan Gonzales:“Im excited to have a new coach I want to see how we’ll finish the offseason through the summer and see how we go. I expect he can take us to the playoffs this year, our main goal will be to be top in our district for that to happen.”

Sophomore Braddox Sims:“I’m pretty excited about the new head coach. He came in, he has alot of energy, I feel like he could really change the program and keep us going in the right direction and I believe it was a great choice to choose him.”
