The show must go on

“Signing in the Rain” opens tonight

With “Singing in the Rain” to open today, students across tech and musical theater classes grappled with the ice days to finish rehearsals.

Junior Jonas Estrada: “This is my first lead role. It’s been really stressful because we haven’t been able to do as much as we had hoped to, tech wise. But we’ll just work really hard over the next couple days, and put on a good show.”

During 7th period junior Mary Shammas paints props for “Singing in the Rain”. Shammas said, “the most challenging has been finding motivation when those around me are not helping. It’s hard to have energy when others are lifeless.” (Lauren Batts)

Junior Kierra McAshan: “It’s been scary, but we’re getting it done. We’re coded out this entire week. And we all work on every piece of it. I’ll do some painting an then I’ll go back to working on costumes, then I’ll come back to painting.”

Freshman Lyndsey Scibana: “It’s for relieving knowing that we’ve come together. We are like a family, so it’s much easier knowing that we’re going to be there for each other. It’s more comforting being here than not.”
