Yesterday the HOSA students hosted the second blood drive. October’s donation drive was Halloween themed with its February counterpart following just in time for Valentine’s Day. The number of pints collected remains unknown for the near future as it must be refined for use.
Senior James Washington: “I love needles when they’re used for a good cause and used in different ways like how Leonardo da Vinci used a needle for his art. I believe needles can be used for good. I have so many gifts and I’m so blessed. I don’t want to fit in, I want to help others and make a change. People deserve to have a good life and to experience love.”
Advanced Algebra II and IB Analysis and Approaches teacher Jane Munro: “I donate as much as I can as a way to give back to the the community. I have done this at least 10 times. Donating saves lives there’s no reason not to.”
Senior Yasmin Osman: “I heard that drawing blood has a lot of positive effects and I wanted to help the community. I did research on the positive affects of drawing blood and decided to do it. I was pretty inspired to donate after seeing the posters around the school. I am scared of needles but I feel like the cause is more important than my fear.”
Senior Jennifer Becerra: “I donated because I want to help people and make some sort of difference in the world. This [was] my second time donating blood. I am a little nervous- with needles I have gotten light headed in the past.”
