On April 23, the baseball team set up the beginning of their playoff run with a win against Vista Ridge with a score of 4-0. The team was prepared and ready for the game, and they’re confident about the next series as well. The Lions take on Austin Crockett on Thursday, May 1st at home at 7 pm.

The next round of playoff games are in a series; one Thursday, then the next is away at Crockett on Friday, May 2nd, and the third is Saturday, May 3rd at 2 pm at home and will only be played if necessary.

“We’re ready to start the playoffs off right and get some wins,” senior Zach Noska said. “We are very prepared for this next series. We as a team are very confident in ourselves to get the job done!”

A strong game against Vista Ridge was just what the team need to get going. Their pitching was great, and the team kept up their energy when the game got tough.

“The opposing pitcher struggled in the beginning and we really took advantage of that,” Noska said. “Nate [Imig] pitched a great game and our defense held Vista Ridge to no runs.  Overall it was a very solid win.”

There is still some preparation to be done for the games against Crockett.

“We are just working on our fundamentals and making sure we are prepared for whatever Crockett throws at us,” junior Griffin Mavis said. “I think we will come out strong the first game and hopefully keep the momentum to the second game against Crockett.”
